Over the past few years, we discovered that having additional time (staggered time) between the start of the school day for each level (Elementary, Middle, and High) had multiple benefits:
- Staggered start times allow elementary students to not have to ride buses with secondary students (except for a few isolated areas).
- Allows for students to report directly to classrooms upon arrival. This contributes to fewer discipline issues and allows time for students to build relationships with their teachers.
With dismissal, we stagger times to:
allow transportation to complete elementary bus routes before picking up secondary students and;
to enable parents picking up via car time to travel to multiple sites.
